Got Unplugged...

How about that Unplugged Expo? If you missed it, I will try to explain it as best as I can, but in short you simply missed a weekend to hang out with friends and strangers who share your love and passion for all things geeky. A lot of the younger anime crowd came out this weekend, in cosplay and all, which is great to see. As for me it was a great chance to meet a lot of different artist from Toronto. And before I go on, I really enjoyed the idea of having all of different talents from Toronto come together, a great idea that we need to do more often. And of course having all of us at Spent Pencils there was a blast, I for one was practically in tears all of Saturday joking and making ERMAHGERD faces with Madd Sketch. And just being able to draw with everyone again is fantastic, I can't express how much I love this crew.

And holy crap we just released our first sketchbook collection!

That's right, now you can have a piece of SP history, complete with a blank cover for sketching purposes, from anyone of us at SP. I want to throw a shout out to Guerrilla Printing for the amazing job on the books, they look absolutely fantastic! Any upcoming artist, go to these guys for any prints, they do an amazing job all the time. So my two pages are in the back of the book in case you're wondering, I did one piece based on some original mech designs, this was created during my "mechs" phase, but I liked the design so much I kept it and went back and updated it. So that's Ch@0s, the mech of well...chaos. I might work a story around it sometime. The second piece is from my long time project, Mages. A lot of redesigns on the characters, but for the piece I wanted to show all the main heroes of the story. I will go into detail on each character in another blog, but you will definitely see these ladies and gents in many other of my works and postings. But yeah, if you would like a copy of the book by all means let me know, it's only $10.00 bucks and I will draw you anything on the cover. Contact me if you would like a book and I will hook you up.

I wanted to close by thanking all the staff and people who came out this weekend at Unplugged Expo, thank you for having us, I hope we can do this again next year. Well I am off to enjoy some wings, beer and some Monday night football. Also a shout out to my boy Nico, happy birthday kiddo!
