The Thing About Love...

Hello friends.

Well it is here, one of the most dreaded holidays, I would even say possibly the most dreaded holiday celebrated here in North America. It is Valentine's Day. A day built on expectations. What you need to do if you are with someone and how you should feel if you are alone. But that is the thing about expectations, you don't need them. I wanted to write to you today, because I know what you might be going through if you are indeed alone this time of year, what you might be feeling. And if I can help you feel just a little bit less lonely, well it would help me out as well.

This year, by societies standards, I am alone. But here is the thing, while I might be on my own today, I know I am loved and I have been loved. And that is something no one can take away from me and they sure as hell can't take it from you. I have some incredible people in my life, I am truly blessed, just on my last post friends wanted to make sure I was alright and let me know they are there for me. I also have an incredible family that while is scattered through out the world in South America, Asia and here in Canada, I know they love me and are always making sure to stay in touch. It would be stupid and ungrateful of me if I didn't recognise all the love in my life, and I know it is hard at times but you need to see and feel all the love around you.

It's also important to understand the importance of self. In this life you need to be the best you that you can be if you want to share your life with someone, mentally and physically. If I have learned anything from relationships, it's not about doing everything you can so you can stay together. I do mean that you should be the best partner you can be for your loved one, of course, but I think it's about being strong enough in your life with or without that someone by your side. It's never easy to say goodbye or to let a beautiful union go, but the love that was there is something that will always be there. I've been really lucky in my life, I've had some really incredible relationships with some incredible girls, who have grown to be even greater women. And I am really happy to see them living a life filled with joy and surrounded by love as well. And I will be the first to say, nothing makes me happier than seeing my friends and family find true love with an awesome partner, I am a sucker for true love. It's the Disney princess part of my mind for sure, but it's a part of me.

Do I want to find true love? Well, I've already found it. What I need to find now is a peace of mind, I need to find the man that I am going to be and what I am going to for the world of tomorrow, what role will I play? Because take it from me, you are not a pawn in this game. So aim for the throne, become a queen or be the loyal knight. Whatever you choose to be, go forward with love inside your heart. Thanks for reading friends, until then keep chasing the storm. <3

Diary of Glass: Entry 4

If I ever leave one piece of me on this planet, one nugget of wisdom, it is this...

"I am not crazy, I am just lonely."

Something I found out this week, officially. Been feeling out of my skin for a few months, like what I am doing and where am I going and who is going with me. A lot of questions, basically going out of my mind for the most part, which sucks, not a good place to be in. If you've follow me on Twitter, you may have seen some late night rants, tweets about my own fears and insecurities, which are there and trust me they are real. There's so much that just doesn't make sense to me, and I need some answers, I need something or someone to make it all make sense. I think we all do. This project, this blog as well, it has helped me in trying to make sense of all this insanity within my head. But according to my doctor, this happens to artist, this is a challenge. I mean this is the thing that will make me or well it will break me.

The Glass Prison while being a very personal project, it is also the only thing I ever wanted to do. Tell stories and create worlds and characters, bring them all to life and share it with millions and millions of different people across the globe. I want to create for a living, I want to make comics, I want to bring them to life on movie theatres or video games. I want to be an empire, I want to make money, I want to be known. There are no other options for me, this is all I know how to do and it's what I love. And sure, you can look at this and call me out for being too ambitious, head in the clouds, aiming high or just not realistic, but why settle for less? Why tell yourself that it's not possible? I want this and I am going to get it, come hell or high water.

That being said, all of this process, the creating and the hours of work, it gets lonely here.

And that's just the way it is, atleast for me and a lot of other creators, except those lucky ones who have found a partner, hold on to them tight. Anyone who is willing to put up with a creator or an artist is an absolute gem of a person and should be praised. I look at myself and I see a guy who is impossible. I am a 27 year old, Pansexual, male who is out of shape and looks like he hasn't slept in days, spends most of his free time in art, creating worlds of demons and stories of mental disorder, a super geek who loves to collect comic books and video games but is also a big fan of hockey and wrestling, a passionate fan of music in general and has an appreciation for fashion. On paper, I don't make any sense, by all laws I shouldn't even exist. So how the hell can I expect anyone to understand that? Maybe I can't, maybe I am not meant to. For everything that I want to be, maybe being a father or a husband or even a boyfriend, just isn't in the stars for me. But one thing I have been many a times is wrong.

Tomorrow, this could all change. I don't know what tomorrow brings, tomorrow could be the start of a new story, of a new adventure and of a new meeting. For all I know, tomorrow could be the day I find Mrs or Mr Right. And you know what, maybe they're just a strange as me on paper or even stranger. Anything is possible, and that is the most exciting thing about tomorrow, that anything is possible.

So while this will be the hardest, most difficult month of my life, I am ready for it. I know I can do this, I know I am not alone, because I feel the love, friendship and guidance from all my friends and family. This book would be impossible without all of you, and I love you all for it.

So do the impossible as well and I will see you at the top, keep chasing the storm.

Not Just a Game...

Quick blog post here guys, just a couple of links that I think everyone should take a look at which deal with some pretty big issues that have been going on in the Gaming Community and on the internet for sometime now, and that I feel could be very well direct towards comics as well. I highly suggest you give it a read and you share it with as many people as possible, we need to spread tolerance and knowledge across the mediums that we love.

Storify Video Games

Video Games are for Everybody

I don't want to get into this too much, seeing as I am more of a comic book guy now in days but I just want to say my part.

Humans are the most evolved species on the planet, but only because we can announce it and place a flag down. We are still years away from being an alpha species and in my opinion it is because of fear. We allow our self to be afraid and to hate on anything that is different. And it's stupid and territorial kind of fear; don't let a Hispanic man marry a white women, make sure your kid isn't gay and god forbid you let a woman write your pay check. This is all a load of crap that majority of "modern" society has been fed for years and years, and are taught to fight these "evils". This is ancient mentality and a new age is coming, an age of acceptance and compassion. But the old and new minds are at a verbal war, and take it from me, I don't really care about ever being "right" but when being right means saving the lives of thousand of LGTBQ youth in Eastern Europe or allowing a women to make a commentary on the current state of gaming, I will fight to be right. I feel that ignorance and a lack of education are the real enemies here, and that only together can we help and educate one and other on the grand importance of human rights and dignity. In other words, the right to live in peace.

Famous Chilean singer, Victor Jara.

Thank you guys, remember to spread love and tolerance everywhere you go. Keep chasing the storm.
