Storm Vlogs: Back from the Falls (+playlist)

Niagara Falls Comic Con came and went by in a flash, a big thank you to everyone who came by the table and picked up some art or some prints, this weekend would be nothing without you guys. And to my Spent Pencils team as well, you guys made a good weekend incredible. Plenty of sketching, selling and drawing all weekend long, but luckily it wasn't all work, there was plenty of play as well. From late night gaming with Mario Kart Double Dash to actually going to see the Falls this year, we totally missed that last time, I can't complain. And to top it all off, we got an awesome bbq from fellow SP artist and family, Oliver. A big thank you to you man and your family for having all of us there.
Want to give some shout outs to the people who came by and got a commission or one of my sketch covers (it's one of a kind and it's all yours now). I got to say it's a honour to meet you guys and to have that kind of love given back for me and my art, so a big thank you. To new followers and old followers alike, anything you need from me, you just ask away. Anything you want to see me draw, let me know. I wouldn't be here without you guys, so let the Storm know what he can create.
And what would a show be without a few pictures. A few amazing cosplayers and memories with friends as well...

Falls to the Con...
Hey Storm Clouds, a heads up and all to everyone who will be going to the Niagara Comic Con this weekend, me the ChileanStorm will be at the show with the fantastic talent of Spent Pencils on hand as well at the artist alley. So if you are looking for some unique art and/or you need to get some awesome Adventure Time prints, I am your man! I also have a lot of my sketch covers available, from $20 to $40 each, and I will throw in a free print of mine as well with the purchase! If you want commissions done as well, let me know and I can have it ready for you!

Saga for the Ages
So I wanted to use today's time to review and go over a book that is
gaining quite some buzz in the comic world out of recent, you may or may
haven't yet read this one and I want to help you cross that bridge of
decision making. The long story short, Saga is good. Actually that
doesn't do justice, Saga is really good. Should you buy it? Absolutely.
But for the short story made long, lets get to it...
"From award-winning writer Brain K.Vaughan (Y:The Last Man, television's Lost) and critically acclaimed artist Fiona Staples (Mystery Society, North 40), Saga is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the universe. When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old world. Fantasy and science fiction are wed like never before in the first volume of this sexy, subversive ongoing epic."
That's pretty much the plot in the most basic form. But a great plot
point they forgot to mention is that both sides of the war are hunting
them down, one side you have a robot prince looking to capture them and
go home to start his own family once his job is finished. On the other
side you got The Will. This guy is a galactic bounty hunter and my God,
this guy is one of those characters I wish I would have created. He
looks like a boss, strong as hell, has got a cool cat who can tell if
people are being honest or not and he seems to enjoy cereal ( who
doesn't though). The Will is also faced with a dilemma of his own by the
end of the first six issues, not going to spoil it for you, but it adds
a lot of different potentials for the plot and how things will look
once all is said and done. Regardless on what happens, here's hoping for
a spin off series for The Will.
The dynamic between the two main characters, Marko and Alana is a very interesting one to follow, especially in them dealing with not only being lovers but in being a new family as well. It's fun reading new things about each character as they learn more and more about one and others past, you feel the characters growth as the story moves along. As it is, this story can go in so many directions its incredible, it's what great on going comic book series are all about. So if you want to collect the single issue or simply wait for the graphic novel collection, you will not be disappointed with Saga.
So yeah, Saga is pretty awesome. My one fear is that the story goes all M.Night Shyamalan on us and then everything goes south. But I highly doubt that's going to be the case here. Anyways I've got a lot to get through in these next days as we prepare for various different events in the month, including this weekend at Niagara Falls Comic Con. I am also going to be posting a lot more work up in the month so stayed tuned to all the different ChileanStorm channels for updates.
